With the right prep, communication, and timeline, you can help your clients feel confident, polished, and still like themselves on their big day.

Start With a Conversation

Before picking up your tools, sit down and talk. A few key questions set the stage:

  • When is the wedding? This determines how much time you have to shape, grow, or test treatments.

  • What are your brow goals? Clients may need guidance to clarify their vision.

  • Do you have inspiration photos? Photos help—but they also need context. Point out makeup or edits so expectations stay realistic.

  • What makeup look are you planning? A natural makeup look requires more precision than a bold glam look.

This conversation gives you clarity and helps your client feel heard.

Build a Timeline That Works

A bride who’s been with you for years just needs consistency. A new client may need more education—and realistic goals. A rough guide:

  • Brow lamination: Try at least 4+ months before the wedding.

  • Tinting: Minimum of 3 months before, so they can test results.

  • Major reshaping or regrowth: Aim for 9–12 months ahead, with regular appointments.

The closer you get to the wedding, the less you want to experiment. Stick with treatments they’ve already tested and loved.

Common Brow Client Types

I’ve found most wedding clients fall into four categories:

  • The Maintenance Baddie: Loves consistency and staying on schedule. Keep them on their regular plan.

  • The Newbie: Excited but inexperienced. Guide gently, keep things simple, and educate.

  • The Drama Queen: Wants it all—lamination, tint, boldness. Ground their expectations, then build a plan that enhances without overdoing it.

  • The Growth Guru: Focused on brow rehab. Be clear about what’s possible, retail a serum, and stress the importance of no DIY grooming.

Knowing which type your client leans toward makes planning easier.

Keep Communication Flowing

Weddings are stressful enough without brow drama. Be proactive with reminders, honest about expectations, and transparent with your process. Communication isn’t just helpful—it’s the backbone of trust.
