Helping Clients Choose Their Perfect Service

Bing! You just got an email from a prospective client– but they’re lost on what they even need. It’s not that your service menu is confusing, it’s just that they don’t really know what it is they’re looking for. Instead of a million messages back and forth, let’s jump to the best and quickest option to starting the new client’s journey.

We want our clients to be excited for their upcoming appointments and not filled with anxiety about whether or not they picked the right service. In-person consultations are a great option to help figure it out but can take time away from your schedule when you’d rather be making money. That’s when a virtual consultation is perfect, as long as you can avoid the back and forth.

I can have a new client confident in what they want and ready to book with just a couple of strategic questions- it’s about understanding where this client falls in a few categories. These questions, as well as a few photos from the client, can help narrow down which category and ensure you give a solid recommendation.

These are some things you might want to find out:

  • What is their experience level in the brow world? Is this their first professional appointment or are they a seasoned pro?

This kind of explains itself; if they’re a newbie it might be hard for them to know what they want. I’ve had clients want all kinds of treatments and then be blown away with a simple brow shaping. The goal is to fit their needs by listening– not just to book the most expensive service.

  • What is their lifestyle and what does their typical day look like?

Figuring this out can be as easy as asking about their daily routine. A busy schedule or lack of time or desire to do daily upkeep would have me shying away from lamination because the aftercare would be too much maintenance; whereas a tint requires a lot less care and attention– perfect for someone with minimal time.

The goal is to help them find their perfect treatment for every day and save those more bold services for when they want to elevate their look. Afterall, we want the client to return regularly, not just for special occasions. Sometimes it is beneficial to start slow and ease clients into the more advanced treatments.
